This Evening
September 05, 2005
On my way home this evening I observed the mix of stratus clouds and wispy cumulus that are a good indicator of another lovely sunset in the making. Sure enough the promising conditions did not disappoint, and there I was at least ten minutes away from home, without my camera!
I think I must have framed at least two dozen absolutely gorgeous photographs in my head, all the while rueing not having my camera on hand.
As soon as I got home I grabbed my equipment and raced outside, just in time to record a handful of frames capturing the flaring finale of another glorious camera-less sunset. This certainly isn't a work of art by any stretch of the imagination, but it will serve as a reminder.
Who was it that said, “Be Prepared.”?

Hi,
So nice color!
I like this shot.
I really am impressed at how you captured the red hues on the photo. Very dramatic indeed.
Wow, I love the red in this one! How are things, I have talked to you in a while.
the color is fantastic and i reaaly like the car in the street.
I think you still made it. I cannot imagine how beautiful the sunset had been, but certainly what you got is beautiful. Not only the sky in fire, but the composition with the posts, and the cables, and the car ready to leave.
Beautiful sunset shot :-)
I curse myself frequently on the same fault. I wish I had a even more compact camera to carry it ever with me...anyway, you have catched a great twilight! Beautiful red hues.
