Savannah Recreation

The Queen's Park Savannah is a vast open park, covering roughly 200 acres just north of the Port of Spain city centre. If Independence Square is the heart of Port of Spain, the Savannah must be the lungs, the grassy field and trees providing a refreshing break from the concrete buildings of downtown.

On evenings and weekends hundreds of people converge on the Savannah to participate in organised sports, to work out, or just to relax with friends and family.

Here, a homemade goalpost is secured to a tree, awaiting the next small goal football match while in the background a youngster learns to ride his bike.
