Over The Hills
May 29, 2005
Evening sunshine plus approaching rain storm equals one of the most spectacular rainbows I've seen recently, crowning the forested hills of the Northern Range.
This panoramic view was stitched together from two photos.

Breathless...
Hi Massimo, it's actually two frames stitched together, manually. That probably explains any distortion you see.
It was quite an incredible sight actually, at one point there were two perfect rainbows, and as the storm was approaching us the rainbow also seemed to be moving closer and closer. You can see a hint of the second rainbow in the top left corner.
You lucky guy!
Wow, I have never seen a rainbow crossing the whole sky from side to side like this. Great that you managed to keep it all in one frame. I am puzzled, however, by the shape of the raimbow, that does not look as a perfect circle. Is it a consequence of lens distortions?
Marc, this is gorgeous! It's not fair - I've got rain here today but no rainbows ;-)
