I had tried taking similar photos earlier in the evening before the sun went down, but it wasn't until about fifteen minutes after sunset, as the colours began tinting the clouds, that it really came to life. By that time most of the people had left the beach, and only a few stragglers remained to witness Nature's lovely light show.
