House on the Hill
July 05, 2005
To me, one of the keystones of architecture is to create a structure that exists in harmony with its environment, one complementing the other. When I saw this house in Courland, on our way back from Plymouth, that was my first impression. Everything about the scene was right.
A little house, on a hill, under a tree. All three seeming to go to together as if they were meant to be. Nothing elaborate or ostentatious about it. It just is.
The question is, for how long?
