Broken

I haven't made up my mind about this photo as yet. Walking through Arima this evening I saw this old abandoned house. The doors and windows were all boarded up, except for this one with the broken shutter.

I employed a version of Boo's partial desaturation technique on this photo as a compromise between black & white and full colour.

this is great; i love that shutter falling off, it's really at a great angle. I do wish the top of the window were visible, and i actually liked your closer crop in the thumbnail.

I like this a lot, especially the light on the diagonal edge. The partial desaturation works well here.

I love shots like these. I've been "collecting" photos of windows and doors for a long time now. I love the textures in this one. Nice work Marc.

Looking at this photograph prompted me to link to the site you listed just to see how that desaturation method can be applied.
